This delightful chalet is in the village of Stadl which lies on the borders of the provinces of Salzburg, Styria and Carinthia. The region is primarily known for its many lakes as well as the majestic Hohe Tauern mountain range. With skiing between 1700 and 2200m it boasts some of Austria's most snow sure skiing yet also benefits from over 200 days sunshine a year, making it a truly dual season resort

You could not ask for a more perfect, sought after location. The house is set in typically Austrian tranquil surroundings and the stunning views through Panoramic Glazing or from the huge sun terrace over the open fields & mountains will guarantee privacy and leave you feeling relaxed during your stay. In the winter stunning snow-scapes and in the summer, miles of open mountain wild flower and butterfly filled walks! Beautiful cities are within reach, for the more adventurous the Italian and Slovenian borders are a 60 minute drive away with a trip to Venice being a 3 hour 30 minute drive.

Chalet Edelweiss is only 1 hour 30 minutes drive from Salzburg which you can fly to directly from Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, Coventry, Dublin, London, Manchester and Southampton. Klagenfurt Airport is only 1 hour 20 mins away, flights are available with Ryanair from London Stansted and Manchester airports.

Stadl is positioned between the two skiing areas of Kreischberg (7 minutes) and Turracher (30 minutes) which combined offer nearly 70km of skiing; it is also only 45km from the Obertauern ski region which has 120km of pistes and at 1700m is also snow sure.

Kreischberg – With Eleven cableways and lifts, 29 kilometers of slopes for the whole family and the best snow cannons in Styria, Kreischberg can ensure that there’s plenty of snow for your fun on the slopes. Snow-making facilities cover more than 80 percent of the slopes!

Skiing in Austria

Turracher Hohe - Located 12 miles or 19km from Stadl, Turracher Hohe is a resort with a variety of attractions for winter sport enthusiasts. The extensive ski terrain with 38 km of runs is situated at altitudes between 1,400 and 2,205 m above sea level and offers a range of other winter sports beside downhill skiing, e.g. cross country skiing, winter hiking and ice skating. Ski lifts include three 6-seated chair lifts, one combined lift (8-person gondola, 6-person chair lift), 2 chair lifts, 8 drag lifts. The resort also offers 25 high altitude cross country trails, children's ski school and ski kindergarten 'Ottifanten', night tobogganing and a 2000m sq ice skating area.
